Making an Application

In the Australian higher education sector, an ‘overseas student’ is a person who:

•   is not an Australian citizen; and
•   is enrolled, or will enrol, in a course of study with a higher education     provider

But does not include:

 •   a person entitled to stay in Australia, or to enter and stay in Australian     without any limitation as to time
•   a New Zealand citizen, or
•   a diplomatic or consular representative of New Zealand, a member of the     staff of such a representative or the spouse or dependent relative of such     a representative.

If you are an overseas student currently completing Year 12 in Australia and seeking to enrol at the Academy you should:

1.
Apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) according to the instructions on the VTAC website www.vtac.edu.au or in the VTAC Guide, available from VTAC. Details of the Academy's courses are published on the VTAC website or in the guide. The Academy course codes to be used in the VTAC application are also shown in the table below.

2.
Complete an Application for Admission – Overseas Students form and submit it direct to the Academy. Before completing the Application form it is important that you download and read How to Apply – Overseas Students for further advice on the Academy’s application procedures. Please also make sure you read the Academy’s Policy on Tuition Fee Refunds and are aware of the student fees (overseas students) before applying.

All other overseas applicants for a place at the Academy should follow Step 2 above. Your application will be considered after 15 December 2009.
