Clement Meadmore Room

The main exhibition gallery was named in honour of the designer and, arguably, father of Australian sculpture, Clement Meadmore. Known worldwide for his monumental steel and aluminium sculptures, Meadmore moved to New York where he worked until he died in 2005. The Clement Meadmore Foundation has approved the naming of the gallery.

The Clement Meadmore Foundation has also donated a Meadmore sculpture design named “Split Ring” for fabrication and installation at the Australian Academy of Design. Funding is being sought for that purpose now. The Academy is a Designated Gift Recipient recognised by the Australian Tax Office so that gifts and donation are fully tax deductable. If you would like to contribute to the fund for the sculpture please contact Malcolm Thomson, Gallery Manager at gallery@designacademy.edu.au

The Clement Meadmore Room exhibits the work of emerging and established artists. Its exhibition program is determined on artistic and educational benefits of the artwork ahead of commercial concerns. If you would like to be included on the mailing list for exhibition invitations please email gallery@designacademy.edu.au or phone the Academy at 03 9676 9000.
