Credit Transfer and Mutual Recognition
Many students in universities find that the course they have started or the university they have enrolled at does not suit them. It is not too late to change after completing a semester or year of studies. Several students have transferred with credit to the Academy in the past to gain benefits such as:
smaller class sizes |
better teaching and mentorship |
lower tuition fees (the Academy is a not-for-profit institution) |
higher course completion rates |
higher graduate employment rates |
equivalent of a 4-year university degree being completed in 3 years |
availability of the FEE-HELP government loan scheme |
Local and international students presently studying at universities and other institutions are able to transfer to the Academy to continue their studies if they have started courses that are relevant to the Academy degree programs in:
Advertising |
Fashion Design |
Graphic Design |
Photo Media |
Visual Arts |
The Academy is able to offer credit to applicants who have already successfully completed modules/units in relevant courses at other institutions at the degree or diploma level.
TAFE students who successfully complete a one-year certificate course or two-year diploma course are eligible for entry with credit into higher-level courses at the Academy. The Academy has Pathway Programs to make the transfer from diploma to degree studies simple.
Applicants are eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). An Application for RPL form is available from the Academy and should be completed and submitted to the Academy together with the Direct Application for Admission form.
In accordance with the principle of mutual recognition, the Academy recognises the qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other registered training organizations and higher education providers.
The application fee for Credit Transfer is $50 per assessment of an application for up to 100 credit points, and $100 per assessment of an application for more than 100 credit points.
