Location The Australian Academy of Design is located in Melbourne, the second largest city in Australia and generally considered Australia’s major cultural centre. The Academy campus is close to the Melbourne CBD in Port Melbourne (see Location Map below). It is surrounded by professional studios and industries relevant to the courses conducted by the Academy and is only 10 minutes by public transport from the CBD. Buses and the light-rail (Route 109) travel every 10 minutes from Southern Cross (formerly Spencer Street) and Flinders Street Stations in the CBD, and the City Loop, and stop a 200-metre walk from the campus (Melways reference: Map 43, C12).
